It's 8:22 PM and I'm home alone and I'm scared I'm gonna be home alone for a long time
It's 8:23 PM and it's raining outside, the light kind of rain that tickles your ears but could be sad if you wanted it to be, and I'm not sure if I do
It's 8:24 PM and I turned off all the lights in the house just so I could feel twilight fall into the kitchen
It's 8:25 PM and I don't want my parents to come home just yet
It's 8:26 PM and somebody bothered to buy roses for the countertop, which is sad because flowers have a predetermined ending, but then again I guess people do too
It's 8:27 PM and I think it's in the quiet moments between speaking and listening that I realize life is happening, that I'm happening, and that I don't want these moments to be small
It's 8:28 PM, and I still need someone to share said moments with.
