How to play the ukulele

Hey you.

I haven't written in a month. (Again.)

It's past midnight. I'm playing a cheap ukulele I bought off of Amazon for $25 dollars and it rattles when I play an E which kinda ruins the Moon Song. My finger tips got sore but I kept playing because I liked it. My brother says you have build up calluses and that it stops hurting eventually which is kind of like everything else in life.

He said that if you stop playing for too long you'll have to build the calluses up again and right now I believe him because my fingers hurt as I type.

I'm thinking about how Nelson said "I wanna go back to the beginning," last Friday. I know he was talking about Netflix but I'm talking about when my fingers were sore for the first time. I was so excited I did it anyway.

Right, right. Sorry. You want to learn to play ukulele.

Firstly, be excited. I can't stress this enough. Find a song that inspires you.

Good, good. It's okay if you have trouble picking a song or if your favorite changes over time. Actually, that's recommended. Once you've found your song, move on to step two.

Step two:
Play the ukulele.

Repeat steps 1 through 2 indefinitely.

  1. This is a very accurate guide about playing the ukulele because it is literally just that over and over again.

  2. This is awesome. This is bigger than the ukulele.

Wow, that stuff on the whiteboard feels forever ago.

I love how you let your life (the moon song, the beginning comment, etc.) inform your art.
